Welcome to our new website featuring: Scratch build and kit models of Sci-fi and other projects.

05/04/08

Okay! I have a 17 new pics in this weeks update for you to enjoy. I've been working on a lot of the visible interior parts for the overhead modules. This includes the front hanger bays and the rear bay which reveals the possibility of this huge structure to also contain some storage areas for Shuttle craft, workbees, travel pods and cargo containers. I've also built some details for those little square recesses that are seen underneath the modules and I've begun some of the lighting and wiring that will help enhance this scratchbuild to a great degree and compliment the PL Enterprise when the two models are finally married together to make one awesome ( in my opinion ) model for all to enjoy. It's getting there little by little. In the next update, I'll have the light panels for the modules added in as well as more of the mark lighting. Stay tuned! And ENJOY!!!!!!

In this weeks update of the Drydock, I've finished detailing both the fore and aft ends of the overhead modules and have primed them so I can apply it's final color. I've included a reference pic of the original filming model so you can see how the models compare. Next I'll be working on the visible interiors of the hanger bays on the modules then they will be connected to each other finally! Next, I'll start some of the wiring for the lighting effects. I'll have more pics of the finished paint job in the next update... so STAY TUNED!

04/13/08

There's not a whole lot of updating pics that I can add this time, because the detailing work takes a while to do and since the modules are detailed pretty much the same it would be pointless to show you more of the same thing. However, I've had a few modelers ask how I did some of the detailing work. So in this update I have a few pics of how it's done. It takes a little time to do this, but I think the finished results look pretty good. In the next update I'll be showing pics of the front and rear ends of the Overhead Modules detailing by the hangers and viewports. See you then!

In this  Drydock Project update, I've finished the tensioning rods for all of the curved panel frames. I've reviewed TMP once again and noticed that there are very minor details to be added between the curved frames. The pics on page 10 show what I mean. I'm going to call these little squares that I've added junction boxes in which I can run additional wiring through in case I've left out some sort of lighting. I've also begun more detail work on the sides of the overhead modules. After recievening some very interesting pics of one of the Drydock Models that was used in one of the TV series, and auctioned off at Christie's, I was able to use those pics as a referent. At first I wasn't sure if this was going to look good, but when I took pics of it I thought it looked very good. I've left these pics a little larger so when you click on the "FULL VIEW" you can check out the details a little better. After I finish the detailing work, I'll be working on the Hangers on either sides of the modules. Hope you enjoy!!!!! Until the next update....

03/15/08

In this weeks update of the Drydock Project, I've added some pics for how I am lighting and wiring the side panels. This is just one way it can be done. I'm not saying its the right way, but I figure.... as long as it works... DO IT.  If you have any questions or suggestions concerning this, drop me a line. In my next update, I should be finished with all of the side panel lights, then I'll be adding some more details to the overhead modules and I'll show some pics of a few of the other details I'll need to add to this model. Also, I'll be adding another model kit to my Future projects page. Hope you enjoy, and thanks for visiting our site!

03/08/08

I just added a "Composite" pic of the PL Enterprise and What I have built so far of the Drydock! It's actually 4 pics added together as one. But, At least it gives you an idea what the final product will hopefully look like! Hope you enjoy. I personally think it looks awesome, but hey! It's my site, right? Right.  Check out Drydock Project, page 9 slide 4. See you next update.

03/06/08

In this update I've posted 2 new pics in the Drydock page. I've finishedassembling the frames for the curved upper and lower tiers on one side of the model. Next I'll be working on the other side then I'll start the wiring for each of the tiers. The pics are showing that I'm getting closer and closer to finishing this beast. It seems to be paying off. I hope you enjoy the progress as well. See you next update!

02/23/08

In this update, I've finished bending all of the tubing for the panel frames, drilled holes for the wiring, and assembled all of the curved panels. Next, I'll begin the wiring and start to add the LEDs as I go. After that I'll add the tension rods to stabilize the light panels. I'm also looking into how I'm going to make the connectors which will join the curved panels with the straight ones. She's coming along very well, now. Hope you like what you see. Let me know what you think! See you next update!

-NemVia-

02/14/08

If you'd like to know how to bend some plastic tubing, go to the drydock page and check out a simple technique I'm using for the curved light panel frames.

02/06/08

Hi Everyone! In this week's Drydock update I've added some more details to the frames that will strengthen the light panels. If you look at some of the closeup shots in ST:TMP you can see there are even more details than what can actually be put on my 1/350 scale, but I'm only going to include some of them, Like that panel that is seen when the spacesuit dude flips over and waves to the ship as it leaves Drydock. I've also started working on some of the curved frames and inserted the light panels. Next, I'll be wiring those as well. I haven't examined the movie for any details that are on the curved sections of the frames, but I'll get to that later. Check out the drydock page, look on page 8. Only 3 pics this time. See you in the next update!

08/15/07

Okay Everyone! I've been waiting for this update as much as you have! On our Drydock model, on pages 4 & 5 You will get to see all of the details that have been added to the overhead modules. The details have been opaqued and then a basecoat of Flat White was applied to ready the model for it's final color. For now enjoy the pics that are posted and in a couple weeks I'll post pics of exactly what I used for the the details. You might be amused. Also In our Memorabilia section on Page 1, the first four pics are of some rare mags I had found at an Antique  store whilst on vacation with my wife. Hope you Enjoy. Please let me know what you think and if you feel I should add more details to this part of the model. Until the next update... See ya later!

Just added a couple of original pics in the Photo Archives today. One is of the PL Enterprise preparing to recieve a shuttle and another is of the Galactica, My personal favorite at this point, recieving several of her Vipers heading toward her landing bays. I was messing arround with my photosuite program and thought I'd try a few things out. More pics to come later and a new update for the drydock will be posted in the up-coming weeks. Stay Tuned.

Thanks for being patient, everyone. The Drydock model has mucho details to be worked on. In the next update I'll be working on the overhead modules for a little while and then I'll be moving on to the the frames for the light panels and other misc. details. In this weeks Update I've added some pics to the "Future Projects" page, which is for the most part kits that I've bought in the past that are awaiting assembly. I believe my retirement will be a busy one! I apologize because I keep getting distracted by these newer projects.  Anyway, stay tuned for future updates.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. Also the main page cursor effect has been changed and the WWBBM slide pages have been removed. The highlited or best pics from the slide show have been moved to the PHOTO ARCHIVES page to allow room for other pics and/or pages. The Future Projects page will be re-updated soon. As for our Current Project ST:TMP Drydock I've been working on the light panels that surround the sides of the ship. New Pics of the light panels are on that page. Coming soon will be the detailing of the overhead modules. See you next update!

05/06/07

Our updates for 567 are in the "Future Projects" page mainly modelkits that I've had in mothballs for quite a while, but they are on my list of things to do. To do when....?  I dunno. Whenever I can get to them. Anyway, I'll have the new Drydock page open very soon with what I've been accomplishing on this latest project so far. This one is going to be a tough scratchbuild as it will need to be built with a lot of details and strength in order to support both itself and the PL Enterprise. I'm really looking forward to working on this project though, and I hope all of you who visit our site will continue to check in and watch the progress being made. More updates coming soon!

IT'S DONE! IT'S DONE! IT'S DONE! The PL Enterprise is finally Finished! There are 26 new pics in the PL Enterprise page! Please let me know what you think! And now that this is finished I can take a break! Right?   Well,... er maybe not. This is only half of the entire model! Now I can start on my next project the ST:TMP DRYDOCK!  Hope this project was helpful for those attempting to build this kit. Remember this version followed the painting directions according to the manufacturers recomendations. I still don't agree with all of the colors, but this will be corrected when I go onto NCC-1701-A sometime in the future! Hope you enjoy the pics and visit again for the progress of the DRYDOCK project. Thanx again.
